Update from surgery

I went and seen the doctor today for my ankle. He told me that he cleaned out a lot of tissue and a foreign object that was floating. He said I'm doing good and that I'm healing well. I start physical therapy next week. I dont have to wear the boot anymore but I do have to wear a brace.

Kevin is doing good, he's still at the same job. His ankle has healed a lot. He has been a great big help while I've been so involved with my class. He has been doing dishes, laundry, and cleaning the house. I'm so blessed to have married him.

Tired and Nauseated

Well today I missed another day of work due to my ankle. Its bothered me all day, I cant get my stitches wet until my post op which isnt until next week. I called the doctors office today to make the post op and I mentioned to the nurse that I changed my dressing, it was bloody, and itched and was gross. She didnt seem to pleased with me because they worry about infection. I explained that all I did was take off the old bandage and replace it with new. I have been feeling pretty nauseous all day so all I have done is sleep. I go back to work tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to.

Kevin is thinking about looking for a new job. He got a pay raise but it was kind of a slap in the face. He's thinking about looking for a new job working with my brother. Kevin was told to contact Kasey's boss and talk to him about a possible job. If he gets the job then he should be making about the same or a little more, and his job place will be a lot better. He will be working with strictly LDS people who are active in the church. Well thats about all thats new with us today.

Surgery Update

Well yesterday I had my sugery. Things went great!! Of course I didnt make it in until really late. They called me at 8am, and asked if I could go in by 10:30am I said of course who wants to keep fasting if you dont have to? Anyways, Dr. Heninger got really behind and I didnt go into the Operating Room until after 1. I got home around 4:30pm. The surgery was about an hour to an hour and a half. I'm not in hardly any pain at all. He scoped my ankle that I had already had surgery on, I guess there was a floating ligament that was in there that he removed. He also did some other things but I'm not sure all what. I guess I'll find out when I go in for my post-op in about 10 days.
Kev was unable to take the day off because he had missed so many days the week before for his own ankle. My mom couldnt take time off, but my grandparents were able to take me which I am so greatful for!
Dr. Heninger called me today to see how I was doing. I've hardly had any pain which has been wonderful. I look forward to healing and hopefully not having any problems in the future.

Update from Aug. 4th

Well we went to the doctor on monday for Kevin's ankle. He was pretty shocked to find out that they stuck a needle in it and drained fluid. He was also pretty shocked that they did not do a CBC (complete blood cell count) to check for infection. So they did a CBC and an arthritis panel. We are just waiting for test results which we will get tomorrow. The doctor said it could be an infection so he gave Kevin levaquin. Dang levaquin is sooooo expensive, even with insurance.
Me and Kevin were going to go on a 2nd honeymoon, because our first one only consisted of going to Salt Lake and then back to work the tuesday after we were married. We were planning on going to Sea World, Disney Land, and Vegas. However with all the medical bills that suddenly hit us we are not so sure we will be going now. Especially because I have to have an endoscopy in Sept, and I'm going for another opinion on my ankle on friday. *sigh* when it rains it pours.
Good news though, my class is over in 2 weeks. It is my final class!! I will officially have my Masters degree and never have to go back to school again!!! Kevin also may be changing his major to becoming a Physician Assistant. If that is the case then we will more then likely either be moving to Salt Lake or out of the state. Of course not for at least 2-3 years. I told him that with being a Physician Assistant, he will never be on call, they make pretty good money, and they do not have to carry their own malpractice insurance. I'll continue to keep ya'll updated on our life!

Happy 3 Month Anniversary!

Last saturday me and Kevin along with my parents went to the temple. It was good for us, and we had a good time. After the temple we went to dinner together and then went home. We both worked all week. Kev got promoted to be the new lay up guy. He will be getting a raise as soon as he's all the way trained. He was going to work today but yesterday before he went to work his ankle started aching, he worked through the day but by the time he got home he was hurting pretty bad. Today, saturday he got up and it hurt almost worse then yesterday. He called in sick and we went back to bed. After I got up, made us breakfast and showered we traveled to the Emergency Room. We spent 2 hours there, it was aweful, they were not busy at all. Unfortunantly we were not impressed at all!!!! The doctor we felt did not know what he was doing. They took x-rays, and it showed no fracture, then they decided to drained the fluid. The doctor was unable to get much fluid and so they were only able to run the most important tests. The doctor that maybe he had gout, however the test came back negative for that, we are now waiting for the culture results, pending those results pends on where we go from there. If he had infection in it then he will be going for surgery. We sure pray that its not that. On monday he has to get in with his family doctor to get some tests ran, looks like we wont be working.

We survived the 24th of July, its a big holiday here in Utah. On the 24th me and Kevin both had the day off, however, Kevin told a guy he works with that he would go in that morning and help load counter tops into the hospital (he's working on the new womens center at the local hospital). Once he came home we got ready and headed to Bear River City, small town celebration. We spent most of the day at the park and at my grandparents house. Later that night we decided to go and do some shopping, my brother Kasey and his girlfriend Dani went with us. I got some new flip flops and Kevin got a new golf club. We also got another piece to our nativity set (collecting the Willow tree one). We enjoyed the day off, we sure wish we could of gone out to my best friend and her husbands house, however they live an hour away and the rodeo we were going to go to did not start until 8. Thats a long drive when we both have to work in the morning.
Its been a good week, tireding but good. Good thing the week is almost over! I only have 3 more weeks left of this class! Then I will officially have my masters degree YAY!!! Its almost 9:30 and way past my bedtime, morning comes early!

BLAH BLAH BLAH

What a day! Well Kevin got off work tonight around 5pm. I however did not. The doctor I work for is giving 3 talks this weekend. She is talking about Ablations (cauterizing the lining of the uterus) and she had to have acurate numbers in order to give her talk. I spent yesterday, and today working on them, 13 hours just today. I have a really bad headache and I still have homework to do. Sometimes working a full time job and going to school full time is just enough.
On Monday Kevin got off work early so he could go and get his car registered, he was so sweet and he brought me home a rose! Its so pretty and I love him more than ever for thinking of me.
Yesterday my parents had a huge tree fall down in their yard so Kevin spent most of the day helping clean that up. I worked a long day thursday as well, however, not no 13 hours.
